But the festival takes place the first weekend in September. It's starting on a Thursday, the offical opening will be on Friday and the festival will go on until Monday. So the dates 2007 will be 30th of August till 3th of September. These are also the dates given by the calender of events ( http://www.ferienportal.net/ortKalender/5457/?ortID=4109 ). For further information try to contact the Mosel-Gäste-Zentrum (Tourist-Information) in Bernkastel ( www.bernkastel.de ). It's really amazing. So you should try to make it. Especially the Saturday with the fireworks and the Sunday with the traditional costume procession (parade, don't know the best term) presenting the wine queens from all the villages around. -s The offical website still shows this years program.
